Welcome to Our Club Site - Celebrating 19 Years!

CLUB ACTIVITIES

Our club was formed in the summer of 2001, and started out with about 12 members. Our desire was to simply enjoy our cars and those of others. At that point, our club included beautiful Mustangs ranging in years from 1964 to 2024. The Cortland Standard took a group picture of our rides and wrote an article about the formation of the Central New York Mustang Club.

Many of our members have such a passion for cars, that we have traded our first club car for another, and then another! Yet some of us still have the car, or cars, that we joined the club with in 2001. New Members have joined and with them came an even larger variety of years, right up to the present models.

The cars in the CNY Mustang & All Ford Club have included just about every Mustang that you can imagine; Mustangs, GTs, Cobras, Shelbys, Saleens, Bosses, hard tops, fast backs, convertibles, old, new, restored, etc.  In addition; Cougars, Crown Vics, Thunderbirds, Fairlanes, F-Series Pickups, Galaxies, Torinos, Falcons, Cyclones, Montereys, and the list goes on and on...our club is about the people and the cars of Ford... we welcome them all!

       Getting Together

Our club typically meets about once a month during the spring and summer, to plan events such as cruises and meets. We are a club dedicated to having fun with our cars and each other. We keep plans for our activities rather simple so we can enjoy the events rather than work the events.

The kick off of our car show season is the annual car cruise from Marathon New York to Cortland New York.  For 2024, our cruise will be held on May 19th. This will celebrate our 41st Anniversary of Cruise Nite!

Cruise Nite is open to the public, starts with a short viewing in Marathon. Then we have an escorted car cruise to Cortland. We have had hundreds of cars turn out for this event and the people of local communities come out to wave at the parade of cars passing by. Once in Cortland, we park our rides, raffle off some door prizes, and most importantly, we enjoy the beautiful scenery of cars all around us!

About the Movie: Insurance investigator Maindrian Pace and his team lead double-lives as unstoppable car thieves. When a South American drug lord pays Pace to steal 48 cars for him, all but one, a 1973 Ford Mustang, are in the bag. As Pace prepares to rip-off the fastback, codenamed "Eleanor", in Long Beach, he is unaware that his boss has tipped off the police after a business dispute.          Fun in the fall means a "Season" of change...

Visiting with friends, old and new, it part of what makes this club and our lives more enjoyable.  In 2010 we made some new friends across Central New York and some of those gathered at Bob's Bar B-Que in Little York for some fixin's...and a few weeks later we stage our departure for the fall tour at Little York Park.

Club News

On Sunday, May 17th, The CNY Mustang & All Ford Club celebrates the 36th anniversary of "Cruise Nite" in the Cortland community, cruising from Lovelle Field in Marathon to Main St. in Cortland. This year the weather treated all in attendance with sun and clouds..but no rain!

The car owners and the hundreds of car enthusiasts who attended this event found the sunshine warmed the day and made for a great event.  About 100 cars left the Maple Festivial grounds in Marathon and followed a Cortland County Sheriff along route 11.  The pace was set around 40 miles per hour and the trip was a great success with the City of Cortland Police Dept. providing escort service through the City.

With sunhine warming the day, more cars joined us in Cortland for this fun filled day! We filled two city blocks, plus had double row parking down the center of Main Street Cortland for this event.

We all look forward to our Tuesday Cruise Nights at Cort Lanes. Last year, the weather was so-so but attendance had been good. As always, a Great turnout is expected on the nights we have great weather. Spread the word about the Thursday Cruise Nights, we always have great door prizes plus cash prizes to give away for those who attend.

On Sunday, June 28, the Syracuse Mustang & Shelby Club will host their annual All Ford Show at Longbranch Park in Liverpool, New York. Club members usually meet at the front of Homer High School and cruise/parage together to the show.  Email us for details.

Sunday, June 21 is another great show sponsored by the Prison City Ramblers at Emerson Park in Auburn.  This fathers day show is always a hit with the club members as it's by Owasco Lake and has a wide variety of vehicles in attendence.  Plan to be there early to get a great spot by the lake.

The Many Faces of Bullitt....1968, 2001 & 2008!

In 1968 Steve McQueen brought Detective Frank Bullitt to the Big Screen.

He also brought along the America's Pony Car....Mustang.

The "Bullitt" Mustang. A 1968 GT Mustang fastback that was chased and then gave chase

in an 11 minute scene that will forever define the ultimate car chase.

The Original Trailer for the BEST Mustang vs Charger Chase Ever

This 390 V8 powered mustang was painted in Dark Highland Green and raced up and down the hills of

San Francisco (click for more on the locations) chasing a 1968 Dodge Charger.  In the end, the bad guys and the Charger were no more.

For 2001, 2002 and now 2008 Ford Motor Company created tribute cars help us relive the expliots of one of Hollywood's greatest actor/drivers.  Steve McQueen's son,  Chad helped Ford get it right each and every step of the way to keep the car pure and simple to the Bullitt Lecacy.

Attention 2001/2002 Bullitt Collectors:

There are two holographic serialization stickers on the Bullitt—one on the driver-side shock tower and a second in a spot that no one from Ford would reveal to us. This was done, would you believe, to prevent counterfeiting some 20 years down the line.

This means that someone will now have to tear theirs apart to find the second sticker and broadcast it via the Internet, if only to spoil the surprise and let everyone know they’ve just disassembled a $27,000 car to look for a sticker.

Who is Detective Frank Bullitt*?

San Francisco police Lt. Frank Bullitt has lost a government witness to professional hit men, and he's dead set on getting his hands on the killers. The opportunity for professional redemption arises when he spies the bad guys' black 1968 Dodge Charger R/T 440 in slow-moving San Francisco traffic.

Bullitt's Highland Green 1968 Ford Mustang GT 390 fastback tags behind the big Dodge. While paused at a light the Charger's driver fastens his lap belt with sober deliberateness. The light flips, the driver stands on the Dodge's accelerator, and two celebrated American muscle cars show what they're made of.

The chase was shot at normal film speed; there would be no cranked-up footage to jazz audiences. The byword was reality.

In 1961, Lee Iacocca, vice president and general manager of Ford Division, had a vision. His vision was a car that would seat four people, have bucket seats, a floor mounted shifter, be no more than 180 inches long, weigh less than 2500 pounds, and sell for less than $2500.00.

Watkins Glen - Now that's Fun!

On Saturday September 27, 2008 The CNY Mustang & All Ford Club joined the Syracuse Shelby Mustang Club for a few laps around the track at Watkins Glen.  There was rain, and there was fun!  As it worked out, it was a track day for BMW Drivers.  Mini's, Corvettes and Porsches all worked the corners and laps.

During a 1 hour break, we were able to have some lap times with our mustangs.  Corners were carved and gears shifted furiously both up and down the gearbox.   After the laps were completed, we were invited back to the event building for a nice lunch and some wind down chatter before heading out...all waiting readily for next years track event!  Click the photo to see more pictures of this wet day that left everyone smiling.
